His foray into remodeling and elevating homes for investment properties helped Matthew build a local reputation. He began working with client properties and continued with his development projects. He worked on a duplex conversion with ZZAP in downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. In the process, he expanded his knowledge of building codes and city permits, enabling him to grow his portfolio of properties with renovations with million-dollar-plus budgets. He converted a duplex property into a triplex and added a secondary unit for a total of four units.

His steadfast commitment to working with only top-of-the-line engineering, planning, and architecture firms and his experience with city representatives solidified his reputation with clients, colleagues, and the city.
